IP communications solutions outfit MetaSwitch is teaming with Argentina-based strategic alliance company Technology Bureau to help Latin American operators improve operational efficiencies of regional IP infrastructure – as well as offer advanced voice services to residential and business subscribers.

 

Under the deal, the companies created a joint sales strategy during their seminar program, titled “VoIP - Carrier Class, Next Generation Converged Solutions," last week in Buenos Aires.

 

"We are confident that Technology Bureau's track record, expertise and penetration in the region will help us to quickly build our presence," said René Méndez, MetaSwitch (News - Alert) vice president of sales for Latin America and the Caribbean.

 

Méndez said Technology Bureau’s support and integration capabilities complementary to MetaSwitch’s products and services. “[It] will allow customers to confidently migrate their networks and deploy new voice services quickly, efficiently and successfully," he said.

 

The carrier IP communications solutions company has been extending its footprint in the Latin American region, and last week began providing its carrier Voice over IP (VoIP) solution as a replacement to existing legacy TDM switching infrastructure used by the Netherlands Antilles’ primary telecommunications service provider.

 

EUTEL, the Dutch island chain’s incumbent telecommunications service provider, has deployed the MetaSwitch solutions making it the first service provider in the Eastern Caribbean to adopt an IMS-ready architecture.
