911 Enable's EGW Appliance Compliant with Avaya Aura

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

911 Enable's Emergency Gateway (News - Alert) (EGW) appliance has successfully completed compliance testing with the Aura Communication Manager 5.2 from Avaya, a global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

The EGW is an on-site appliance that helps organizations simplify E911 management and meet state E911 legislation.

Officials with 911 Enable said that usually co-located ed with the Avaya (News - Alert) Aura system, the EGW automatically tracks and assigns locations to IP phones, softphones, and wireless phones as they move on the corporate network.

Company officials said that it also includes a comprehensive suite of on-site security notification capabilities, provides call recording features, supports off-campus workers, and is the only E911 solution on the market that supports Avaya SIP phones.

"911 Enable's (News - Alert) EGW is a powerful on-site appliance that allows enterprises using Aura Communication Manager to meet their E911 obligations and protect their entire workforce," said Lev Deich, director of 911 Enable.

Deich said that this builds on the company's existing compliance tests with earlier versions of Communication Manager and IP Office, and demonstrates the company's commitment to provide E911 capabilities for Avaya's newest technologies.

911 Enable, a division of Connexon Telecom Inc., is a provider of E911 solutions for IP telephony systems.

911 Enable is a Gold member of the Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) program-an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its network.

"911 was initially turned upside down with the emergence of IP Telephony, but the state-of-art technology is such that our customers need not worry about that aspect of the overall emergency equation", said Eric Rossman (News - Alert), vice president, developer relations, Avaya.

Rossman said that the company is pleased to continue to develop the best and most innovative solutions to the market and are honored to do so with experts like 911 Enable.
He said that their Emergency Gateway has proven to be not only compatible, but totally complementary with the growing family of applications available with Aura Communication Manager 5.2.
