Amcom Software, a subsidiary of USA Mobility (News - Alert), announced that Eddie Bauer, a specialty retailer that sells sportswear, outerwear, gear and accessories for the active outdoor lifestyle, has deployed Amcom’s enhanced 911 (E911) communications system to protect its employees.
The service enables Eddie Bauer employees to connect with a Public Safety Answer Point in case of emergency. When someone dials 911 from the retailer’s offices in, for example, Bellevue, Wash., or Chicago, the E911 solution provides both the Eddie Bauer security department and the local 911 call center with the caller’s exact location, including the building, floor, and room number.
“We take communications and security very seriously,” said Tod Venema, senior technical analyst, Eddie Bauer, in a statement. “The Amcom system is a perfect communications safety net in case someone dials 911 and can’t explain where they are.”
The Amcom E911 solution is integrated with Eddie Bauer’s phone system. It covers more than 700 phones. By integrating E911 system, first responders are able to find the specific location in case of emergency, resulting in immediate response to emergencies.
Through the E911 system, the company has proved its commitment to a safe working environment, according to company officials. It will ensure that local police, fire, and paramedics receive detailed information of the employees in emergency and offer them quick assistance as needed.
“We are impressed with Eddie Bauer’s culture of employee safety and the importance they place on critical communications,” said Chris Heim, president, Amcom Software, in a statement. “Enhanced 911 software is key to effective emergency response and can mean the difference between life and death.”
Amcom Software provides unified communications technologies including solutions for contact centers, emergency management, mobile event notification, and messaging.
