ME911 Debuts a New Kind of Enhanced 911 Services Mobile App

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

ME911, a company offering 911 emergency response services to help keep families safe and also provide child safety IDs, USB keychains, and pet IDs, released a mobile app for the iPhone (News - Alert) called 'ME911' for parents, individuals with chronic health concerns or even travelers that want mobile access to vital digital assets, comprehensive protection and a new kind of enhanced 911 services for loved ones.

This innovative app turns the iPhone into a one-stop-spot for retrieving or sharing the user's vital information in an emergency. In case a person loses his or her wallet and needs copies of their IDs, membership or credit cards or even if a parent is required to provide emergency responders with access to their child's vital information with only minutes to spare, ME911 Mobile helps the needy.

"We are very excited to usher in ME911 Mobile starting with Apple's (News - Alert) iPhone to provide a practical solution to solve our customers' needs," stated Clarence Wesley, ME911's CEO, in a statement.

Wesley said that they even leveraged several of its cutting edge features, such as the onboard high resolution camera to upload digital images of documents into the secure virtual locker, 'a la cloud,' with the click of a button.

The new app also includes a Virtual Locker on-the-go that can easily captures, stores, and organizes photos of vital documents like those frequent flyer cards, driver's licenses, membership cards, insurance info, credit cards, and more for quick access when needed during emergencies.

The app even addresses the possibility of poor Internet connectivity with the 24/7 Virtual Assistant, allowing users to directly call in to e-mail or fax documents stored in their Virtual Locker wherever needed to save time. The same function also allows for text alerts to be sent to all emergency contacts with one-touch without having to go through an entire contact list.

"ME911 is a clever app that empowers you to be proactive about family safety and better handle emergencies while on the go," emphasized Azita Arvani of The Arvani Group . "You can store a copy of critical documents like your passport, driver's license and credit cards and at the same time keep track of vital health information. You can also alert the appropriate friends and family members during emergencies, all in one place."

As TMC (News - Alert) recently reported, the iPhone is trying to amp up its enhanced 911 services apps. Interns at the Northern Kentucky University’s Center for Applied Informatics (News - Alert) built a new iPhone app, which is capable of mobilizing citizen emergency responses. The app, ‘Fire Department,’ can be used via the iPhone to help strangers in need of emergency 911 services.
