Managed SD-WAN and SASE: An Imperative for SMB Connectivity and Security

By Erik Linask August 12, 2025

Today’s SMBs are increasingly reliant on cloud applications, remote collaboration tools, and bandwidth-hungry services that demand constant, high-quality connectivity.  At the same time, the threat landscape has grown more sophisticated, with cyber attacks targeting organizations of all sizes, often exploiting weaknesses in traditional network perimeters.  For many SMBs, managing both performance and protection has become a balancing act – one that’s often hindered by limited IT budgets and resources.

This is where managed SD-WAN and SASE solutions are stepping in as game-changers.  SD-WAN enables intelligent routing across multiple connections to optimize speed and resiliency, while SASE delivers unified, cloud-based security that scales seamlessly with business growth.  When delivered as a managed service, these technologies remove the complexity of in-house deployment, giving SMBs enterprise-grade capabilities without the operational burden.

The demand for such solutions is surging.  IDC (News - Alert) projects that the SD-WAN infrastructure market will surpass $7 billion by 2027, driven by the convergence of networking and security in cloud-first strategies.  For SMBs, the value proposition is clear: consistent connectivity, strong cybersecurity, and simplified management—at a cost that aligns with business realities.

Knowing the increasing demand for reliable, secure connectivity, National Wireless and Adaptiv Networks have announced a strategic partnership aimed squarely at delivering these capabilities to SMBs.  Under the agreement, National Wireless will integrate Adaptiv Networks’ (News - Alert) cloud-managed SD-WAN and SASE solutions into its Business Internet portfolio.  This move expands National Wireless’ offerings to deliver faster, more reliable, and more secure connectivity, purpose-built for the needs of smaller enterprises.

“Partnering with Adaptiv Networks allows us to elevate our Business Internet offerings to new heights,” said Dan Baker, President, National Wireless.  “By integrating SD-WAN and SASE solutions, we’re equipping our customers with unbreakable connectivity, superior cloud performance, and advanced cybersecurity that’s simple to deploy and manage.”

The integrated solution offers three key benefits:

  • Unbreakable internet connectivity with SD-WAN to ensure seamless, high-speed performance for business-critical and cloud-based operations;
  • Enhanced cybersecurity via cloud-based SASE, offering quick deployment, scalability, and simplified management; and
  • Cost-effective innovation designed to optimize operations without the expense and complexity of legacy systems.

Adaptiv Networks CEO Bernard Breton (News - Alert) emphasized that, “We’re enabling businesses to achieve superior network performance and cybersecurity without the complexity or high costs of traditional solutions.”

As businesses continue to navigate hybrid work models, expanding cloud adoption, and escalating cyber risks, partnerships like this signal a broader industry shift.  More specifically, advanced networking and security are no longer optional; they’re essential.  The combination of SD-WAN and SASE, delivered as a managed service, offers a baseline for secure, reliable business connectivity in the years ahead.

Adaptiv Networks (Booth #1356) is a Gold sponsor of MSP Expo 2026, happening in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, February 10-12, 2026.  Taking place in the newly expanded Broward County/Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center, MSP Expo will deliver the education and networking to enable MSPs to deliver the best services to their clients while improving their own internal operations to maximize revenue potential.  MSP Expo is part of the ITEXPO #TECHSUPERSHOW.
