Wi-Fi has become an indispensable part of our daily lives, connecting us to the internet, our devices, and each other. As our reliance on wireless networks continues to grow, so does the demand for faster, more reliable and less congested Wi-Fi connections. Wi-Fi 7, the latest generation of Wi-Fi technology, promises to deliver advancements in all these areas.
Wi-Fi 7, also known as IEEE (News - Alert) 802.11be, is designed to address the limitations of previous Wi-Fi standards and provide a more efficient wireless experience. With higher data rates, lower latency and improved capacity, Wi-Fi 7 has the potential to change how we use and interact with wireless networks.
According to Intel, “Wi-Fi 7 enables significantly faster speeds by packing more data into each transmission. 320 MHz channels are twice the size of previous Wi-Fi generations—which is somewhat like using a semi-truck to move boxes, compared to a moving van.”
Of course, to get the most out of Wi-Fi 7, the right gateways to handle its capabilities are needed, and Zyxel Communications is here to deliver on that.
Zyxel is a provider of secure broadband networking, internet access and connected home products, and they announced the availability of the Wi-Fi 7-enabled EE6601-00 Tri-Band Wireless BE19000 10G Ethernet VoIP with SFP+ and EE6510-10 Tri-Band Wireless BE18000 10G Ethernet Gateways in the North American market.
Zyxel's new EE6601-00 Tri-Band gateway is a Wi-Fi 7 powerhouse, capable of delivering speeds up to a staggering 46 Gbps. Packed with cutting-edge features like OFDMA, Multi-User MIMO and beamforming, it ensures smooth, lag-free streaming and optimal network performance. Multi-Link Operation takes reliability and speed to the next level by combining multiple frequency bands for a more robust connection.
Say goodbye to Wi-Fi dead zones. The EE6601-00's advanced technology blankets your home or office with seamless Wi-Fi coverage, while service providers benefit from its flexible 10G and fiber connectivity. Zyxel is also introducing the EE6510-10 for North American service providers seeking a Wi-Fi 7 solution that integrates seamlessly with their 10G Ethernet networks. While similar to the EE6601-00, the EE6510-10 lacks fiber capabilities, VoIP and POTS FXS ports. It supports OpenSync and Plume for added versatility.
Both the EE6601-00 and EE6510-10 are part of Zyxel's Minimal Series, a collection of devices that won the 2024 Red Dot Award for their sleek design. Committed to sustainability, the Minimal Series minimizes environmental impact by eliminating unnecessary hardware, reducing resource consumption and lowering carbon emissions. Made from 100% recycled plastics, these devices reduce CO2 emissions by 80% compared to traditional materials. Smart snap fits simplify part replacement and refurbishment, further extending their lifespan.
Both gateways will also support Zyxel’s new edge-cloud managed Wi-Fi Services. Recently the EE6601-00 became one of the first Wi-Fi 7 products to achieve official certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance (News - Alert).
"These new gateways offer unparalleled Wi-Fi 7 performance that delivers ultra-fast speeds and seamless connectivity to elevate the subscriber experience,” said Brian Feng (News - Alert), senior vice president at Zyxel Communications. “Service providers can now optimize network performance and coupled with flexible 10G Ethernet and fiber options, provide powerful, sustainable solutions that meet the current and future demands of modern networks."
