Easy On Hold Solves Hold Music Woes for Microsoft Teams Phone

By Greg Tavarez July 17, 2024

Easy On Hold, established in 1997, was part of what changed the "music on hold" industry in 2013 by introducing live-streamed, licensed music and customizable content.

Today, they lead the field with innovative, end-to-end streaming applications. These applications function seamlessly across various VoIP and PBX phone systems, including cloud-based solutions and on-premise installations compatible with Avaya (News - Alert), Cisco, Genesys and many others. Easy On Hold prioritizes customer engagement and aims to translate that into increased revenue for its extensive global client base.

Additionally, Microsoft Teams Phone (News - Alert) users can now benefit from the streaming hold music service from Easy On Hold, a Microsoft partner. Easy On Hold's live streaming integration addresses common pain points encountered with traditional methods. The days of repetitive loops, limited file sizes and licensing headaches are no more. Teams Phone users can now choose from 14 distinct, professionally curated channels spanning genres like Acoustic Rock, Upbeat Jazz and Tranquility.

"Unlike audio files, the Easy On Hold stream is live and dynamic, so the listener never encounters any repetition," said Julie Brown, Easy On Hold's President and CEO. "And when personalized voice recordings and messages are introduced as an upgrade, the customer experience becomes even more robust, with the ability for Teams administrators to schedule content to play at certain times on a custom schedule while customers wait on hold."

Enabling the music on hold stream is an easy task.

“Once you become a subscriber with Easy On Hold using our admin tool, you'll receive a URL for the streaming source,” said Brown. “Use that to configure your Teams call hold policy with PowerShell.”

The self-serve "Solo" option streamlines access for smaller teams. With a monthly subscription ranging from $9 to $89 (based on user count) and a free 14-day trial, Solo allows users to personalize hold experiences without long-term commitments.

For larger organizations, Easy On Hold offers a customizable "Premium" tier featuring features like multi-stream blending, integrated messaging and AI-powered IVR prompts, all backed by a one-year contract.

The long-story-short of it? The collaboration between Easy On Hold and Microsoft (News - Alert) elevates hold experiences for Teams Phone users and creates a more engaging and professional environment for callers worldwide.
