Telesystem Welcomes Industry Veteran with Proven Track Record as New President

By Greg Tavarez February 26, 2024

Telesystem caters its technology solutions specifically to the needs of SMEs. The company recognizes that these businesses often lack the internal resources or expertise to manage complex IT infrastructure. Therefore, Telesystem prioritizes providing a "trusted layer of expertise" and a “managed experience." This allows SMEs to focus on their core competencies without getting bogged down in the intricacies of vendor management.

To deliver on this promise, Telesystem leverages its nationwide 100-gigabit network. This extensive infrastructure allows the company to offer a comprehensive suite of services, including voice, networking and managed security solutions, to clients across the country.

Telesystem also cultivates new business opportunities through established relationships with technology brokerages. These partnerships allow Telesystem to tap into the expertise and reach of established companies in the industry such as Scansource, Sandler Partners, Telarus (News - Alert) and AppDirect, facilitating broader market access and client acquisition.

With that in mind, this nationwide provider of cybersecurity, networking and communication solutions recently welcomed James Maloney as the president of Telesystem. In his new role, Maloney will assume responsibility for Telesystem’s growth and expansion, in addition to ensuring the achievement of annual financial goals and the overall strategic plan.

"Telesystem is a truly remarkable company with a team of talented professionals, an unwavering dedication to their customers, and is poised to take advantage of the dynamic changes in the technology industry," said Maloney. "I couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of the Telesystem family. Together, we will lead this great company into a bright and prosperous future.”

Maloney has a proven track record of successfully leading digital and business transformations to drive growth and market expansion with over three decades of experience in the telecom industry. His unique ability to predict changing market conditions and rapidly adapt organizations have been cornerstones to his successful career.

In 2000, Maloney founded and led DSCI, where he built a carrier-grade network and transformed the business first into a facilities-based CLEC, and later into a national UCaaS provider. Maloney led the sale of DSCI to TPX in 2016 and remained with TPX to lead the eastern U.S. until departing in 2019. His success continued at CloudCall, where he served as the chief revenue officer and acting chief operating officer.

“I am pleased to welcome James Maloney into our executive team,” said Block Communications Inc. President and Chief Operating Officer Jodi Miehls. “We have great chemistry as a leadership team, and James will fit right in as we move our strategic plan forward."
