Telchemy Enhances Microsoft Teams Support with VQmon 5.4

By Stefania Viscusi December 20, 2023

Telchemy (News - Alert), a provider of embedded analytics software, has announced the rollout of VQmon 5.4, the latest iteration of its analytics library, now featuring enhanced support for Microsoft (News - Alert) Teams.

At a time when VoIP and videoconferencing have become key components of remote work and distributed call centers, VQmon's analytics prove critical for both enterprises and service providers.

Since 2001, Telchemy's VQmon has been evolving along with industry standards in mobile, communications, and entertainment. The software provides comprehensive data analytics for voice, video, audio, and data services, making it a go-to analytics library for real-time application performance analysis.

VQmon supports a wide array of applications, including VoIP, videoconferencing, video streaming, broadcast audio/video, data, real-time text (RTT), and FoIP. It uses robust perceptual quality algorithms to deliver accurate, stable, and consistent QoE scores, even when there are time-varying impairments.

One of the key features of VQmon is the ability to automatically identify and analyze voice and video streams in real-time, processing rates of 2-4 million packets per second per core, and analyzing encrypted media streams without decryption.

With VQmon 5.4, it has added support for Microsoft's Satin audio codec and the Scalable Video Coding codec that is used in Teams. This is in addition to the company’s already existing support for codecs, including H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, H.266/VVC, AV1, and more.

With over 600 million VQmon agents integrated into a diverse range of devices and systems, including IP phones, VoIP chipsets, SD-WAN edge systems, and routers, Telchemy's VQmon has set the standard for application-aware embedded deep packet inspection, providing invaluable insights into network performance.
