8x8 Assists Baptist World Aid's Fight Against Poverty with Reliable UC Platform

By Greg Tavarez November 28, 2023

Baptist World Aid, as a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to addressing and alleviating global poverty through a multifaceted approach. The organization places a strong emphasis on community development, recognizing that sustainable solutions require a comprehensive understanding of the specific needs and challenges faced by communities.

With a presence in 22 countries, Baptist World Aid collaborates closely with 35 in-country project partners to implement 67 projects that extend beyond immediate relief efforts, targeting the root causes of poverty. By doing so, the organization aims to create enduring positive change and empower vulnerable populations to break free from the cycles of poverty.

In addition to community development, Baptist World Aid is actively engaged in disaster relief and advocacy initiatives. Baptist World Aid also strives to influence policies and practices at local, national and international levels to create an environment that fosters social justice and equitable opportunities for those living in poverty.

Managing the myriad global locations, employees and partners is no easy task, though. Baptist World Aid needs an integrated cloud contact center and communications platform capable of supporting customer engagement and employee communications and collaboration for support and donation processing. Baptist World Aid needed a solution that integrated with their existing Microsoft (News - Alert) Teams solution to provide accurate, real-time data and analytics.

8x8 Inc. meets those needs. So, Baptist World Aid deployed the 8x8 (News - Alert) XCaaS integrated cloud contact center and unified communications platform with 8x8 Voice for Microsoft Teams and the solution certified for Teams 8x8 Contact Center.

8x8 XCaaS is a cloud-based communication solution that integrates contact center, voice, video and chat. It is a single-vendor cloud solution for employee and customer engagement, and includes fully integrated contact center, voice, video meetings, team chat and CPaaS APIs and embeddable apps. The platform is designed to help boost employee productivity, delight customers and help businesses make smarter business decisions.

Baptist World Aid chose the 8x8 XCaaS platform for its call quality, improved quality management and reporting capabilities and integration with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Dynamics 365. 8x8’s ease of use and product support has also allowed Baptist World Aid to focus more on important, life altering projects and goals and less on software maintenance.

"8x8 has completely changed the way we approach our communications strategy and our eyes have been opened to the vast array of features and possibilities available,” said Eun Bie Lee, Support Engagement Manager at Baptist World Aid. “With 8x8, we’re able to accomplish so much more, regardless of location."

8x8 XCaaS is a resilient, secure and compliant platform that offers a high level of reliability with a financially backed, platform-wide 99.999% uptime SLA across an integrated cloud UCaaS and CCaaS solution. Baptist World Aid now has an organization-wide integrated platform for communications, collaboration and customer engagement across mobile, desktop and web to deliver superior customer experiences.

“Baptist World Aid is doing incredible work around the world to alleviate poverty, and a big piece of having an impact is being able to effectively communicate with everyone involved,” said Hunter Middleton, Chief Product Officer at 8x8. “With 8x8 XCaaS, not only does Baptist World Aid get a seamless, integrated contact center and unified communications platform, they also get the benefits of working within the familiar Teams interface.”
