Juniper Introduces Contrail Security

Juniper Networks (News - Alert) recently came out with a new solution aimed at protecting applications running in multiple cloud environments. This new offering, called Juniper Contrail Security, was designed for use by enterprises and software-as-a-service providers with hybrid cloud architectures. Perimeter-based policies, Juniper says, are unable to adequately protect these companies and their environments. Juniper Contrail Security, however, can help organizations secure such environments by providing IT staff members with the visibility and control they need to create and automate security policies and ensure they are met.

AuthAnvil Secures Microsoft Office 365

Kaseya has come out with a new version of its AuthAnvil identity management solution. It provides automated user provisioning, multifactor authentication, and a  single sign on for Microsoft Office 365. The authentication capabilities help protect businesses from password breaches at popular services and sites like Dropbox, LinkedIn, and Yahoo! Kaseya is an IT management solutions company serving managed service providers and small to midsized businesses.

Nubeva Launches SaaS Offering

A startup called Nubeva has introduced a security-as-a-service platform. Named CloudEdge, this offering allows enterprises to extend their security and compliance technology stacks to their remote/branch offices and partners/contractors. And it allows users to choose the way security solutions like NG-Firewalls, UTM, IPS, URL filtering and ATP chain work together.

Security Company Garners $15M

Dome9 Security has raised more than $15 million in Series C funding. The round was led by SoftBank Corp. Existing investors also participated. Dome9 sells a SaaS solution called Dome9 Arc that natively integrates with AWS, Azure, and the Google (News - Alert) Cloud Platform.

NuData Becomes Part of MasterCard

MasterCard is acquiring NuData Security, a global company that leverages session and biometric indicators to help businesses prevent online and mobile fraud. “Securing all payments today and tomorrow remains a top priority for MasterCard,” said Ajay Bhalla, president of enterprise risk and security for MasterCard. “The addition of NuData will build on our layered security strategy to safeguard each and every transaction across the globe.”

McAfee (News - Alert) is the New Intel Security

Intel Security has changed its name to McAfee. This relates to the effort by TPG and Intel Corp. to establish a pure-play cyber security company. Also, the company said private equity investment firm Thoma Bravo has become a minority investor in the company via an agreement with TPG. As previously announced, Intel retains a 49 percent equity stake in the new entity.

Netsurion Wins Fortinet Platinum Status 

Fortinet has named Netsurion one of its MSSP Platinum Partners. Netsurion complements Fortinet’s cyber security solutions with a managed service that simplifies implementation and management. The goal is to make it easy for any size operation to have enterprise-class security without the cost of dedicated onsite IT staff.

IBM Adds Qualys Solutions

Big Blue is aligning with Qualys, which provides cloud-based security and compliance solutions. Qualys serves nine of the top 10 companies in technology, retail and biotechnology as well as many of the top 10 banking, car manufacturing, chemical, food retail, media, software, and telecommunications.

New Huawei Gateway (News - Alert) Addresses Security

Huawei has come out with a terabit-level cloud integrated security gateway. The USG9000V was designed to provide high-performance, easy-to-manage, and comprehensive software-based virtual network security protection. It employs single-NE flexible scale-out and scale-in, supports a maximum of 128 VMs in a cluster, and provides up to 2.5 Tbps forwarding capabilities.

Centrify Study Argues for IAM Solutions

A new Forrester (News - Alert) study commissioned by Centrify notes that organizations are being breached at an alarming rate despite spending some $75 billion last year on cyber security. The supplier came out with the report in an effort to promote its identity and access management solutions. According to the study, 83 percent of organizations do not have a mature approach to IAM,  resulting in two times more breaches and $5 million more in costs.

ServiceNow Announced New Integrations

ServiceNow has some new integrations as of earlier this year. Its ServiceNow Security Operations solution now features build-in integrations with Palo Alto Networks, Tanium, and many others.
