ITEXPO 2017: That Which is Old is New Again

By Erik Linask, Group Editorial Director  |  September 06, 2016

This February will mark the 34th edition of ITEXPO (News - Alert). I don’t know that there are many longer running communications events in North America that have consistently delivered some of the best education and business networking opportunities in the industry. Coming Feb. 8-10, 2017, to the Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, this next edition will provide great value to attendees and exhibitors, as we have been hard at work collaborating internally and with vendors, partners, and analysts to create the best ITEXPO yet.

Content-wise, as we always strive to do, we’ll be presenting education for every market segment, covering the most important subjects, challenges, and solutions impacting the enterprise, SMB, network operator, MSP, reseller, and developer markets. We’ve already planned coverage of many of the hottest topics impacting businesses and their vendors today: messaging and team collaboration, APIs, MSP solutions and opportunities, analytics and BI, security, SDN/NFV, RTC, communications apps, monetization strategies, and channel development. And that’s just for starters.

We already have some great names delivering this content, from companies like VMware, IBM, Fortinet (News - Alert), Onvoy, Dialogic, Blacc Spot Media, Temasys, Securonix, and Sonian – just to name a few of those recently added. We’ll be adding new panelists, presenters, and keynoters regularly so check back at www.itexpo.com for the absolute latest speaker roster. These experts have the tools and experience you need – whether as a customer or partner – to thrive in today’s digital revolution.

Much of this follows the ongoing trend of making technology simpler, more user friendly, and more intuitive, including for application developers, who are able to leverage things like WebRTC and APIs to create new communications apps with GUI-based techniques. Even novice programmers and web developers are becoming app developers as a result. And, these apps are being integrated into managed service offers, internal enterprise collaboration solutions, and offered by service providers as add-ons to existing communications services. The result is a host of new services and applications being developed, tested, and rolled out faster and more effectively than ever before.

Speaking of new apps and services, ITEXPO 2017 will mark the 3rd edition of IDEA Showcase, where we allow startups to deliver pitches to a panel of judges and the attendees, who also have an opportunity to ask questions and then, ultimately vote on both judges’ and audience winners. The winner of IDEA Showcase @ ITEXPO 2016, VoiceBase, was able to secure funding as a direct result of its participation. If you’re interested in participating as a startup or a judge, contact me at [email protected] to find out more.

Over the years, what I’ve really found that differentiates ITEXPO from other events is the breadth of not only content, but attendees, speakers, and exhibitors, which cover the business tech space from corner to corner. We’ve all attended events where if you’ve spoken to one exhibitor or sat in one session, that’s pretty much a sign of what you’re in for. At ITEXPO, we go to great lengths to ensure what we present extends beyond one technology, one niche market, one vertical, or one trend, to allow attendees to become educated in many areas in one week, and to maximize the number or relationships vendors and providers are able to make at their booths.

So, while ITEXPO itself is certainly not new, we’ve built on the years of experience to continue to deliver new content and events that ultimately result in a uniquely enriching experience for all participants that can’t be replicated in our space. I know it’s only September, but knowing all that’s in store at ITEXPO 2017, there’s no time like the present to get it on your calendars and register today. See you in Ft. Lauderdale, and I encourage you to keep tabs on all that’s new and exciting at ITEXPO at www.itexpo.com
