Winning in 2025: Embracing Modern Marketing Essentials at ITEXPO 2025

By Alex Passett January 07, 2025

Good afternoon, readers!

When last we talked about our lineup of sessions at the upcoming ITEXPO 2025, a.) it was still 2024, and b.) we covered cybersecurity measures that businesses should prioritize in the new year.

Today, let’s shift gears; specifically, towards modern marketing strategies for today’s dynamic business landscape.

As Forbes wrote last spring, “The quest for effective marketing strategies is more critical than ever. As technologies evolve and consumer behaviors shift, traditional marketing approaches are being eclipsed by innovative and out-of-the-box strategies.” From there, Forbes broad-strokes over general business objectives, available budgets and businesses’ respective target audiences before steering towards a plethora of tips; develop high-quality, relevant content, regularly monitor and analyze SEO performance, learn how to best elevate search rankings organically, etc.

Below, we’ll build on these tips with further brainstorming. This includes (but is, by no means, limited to):

  • More Content Marketing: Creating marketable content that is equal parts accessible and informative is a major boon. In doing so, channel partners can establish themselves as trusted advisors and industry thought leaders; we’re talking white papers, guides, blog posts, call-to-action webinars, targeted social media updates and much more.

  • A Unified Vision: Per McKinsey & Company, marketing leaders must work collaboratively to drive growth; from sales to product innovation to technology, finance, and HR. “In fact, CMOs (and those in similar roles, such as CGOs and CCOs) who function as ‘unifiers’ (i.e. those who work with C-suite peers as an equal partner) drive greater growth than those who don’t. Unifier CMOs adopt the language and mindset of other C-suite executives, articulate how marketing can help meet their needs, and ensure that they understand marketing’s clearly defined role in their space.” This can lead to the creation of reliable, productive relationships that pave the way for thorough campaigns all brought together with a consistently impressed-upon vision.

  • Truly Customer-Centric Approaches: No longer are those helming the longships of marketing simply conduits for product or service distribution; they’re critical extensions of a brand, responsible for delivering compelling experiences for customers. “What’s different today,” as we return to Forbes, for a moment, “is that marketers have unequivocal evidence that meeting customers’ needs creates value and delivers competitive advantage.” And so, achieving authentic customer-centricity involves a.) design-thinking approaches to solving customers’ pain points and unmet needs, b.) a centralized platform with intuitive UI and non-invasive touchpoints, c.) measuring everything consumers see and engage with (i.e. SEO-related stuff), and d.) the continuous generation of insights from customer-journey analytics that, ideally, talented people in your crew can translate into future content that really, truly resonates.

This list is far, far from exhaustive, y’all. We haven’t even covered ROI mindsets and the financial rigor therein that create a culture of accountability (i.e. successes are reexamined as often as underperforming investments are scrapped), nor have we talked about leveraging AI to inspect massive swathes of data in much shorter time than it’d take us, allowing team members to go do what they do even better. Capitalizing on that is a big-time topic, these days.

But, we digress. Again, this ain’t the whole kit and kaboodle. There’s plenty more that folks interested can learn about.

To do precisely that, consider attending ITEXPO 2025! It’s taking place from February 11-13 (nearly a month out, at this time of publication) at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It’s part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW experience that combines educational conference programming with a robust exhibit hall, networking events and a boatload of other business-enriching activities.

And pertinent to the importance of this whole marketing topic, ITEXPO (News - Alert) 2025 attendees can join us for a session that’s titled “How to Give Your Marketing a Modern Boost.” Its panelists will surely be discussing all of this in greater depths than I can for you.

This session is happening on Wednesday, February 12 from 10:00-10:45 AM.
