Introducing Tango Extend for Webex Calling

By Stefania Viscusi November 25, 2024

Tango Networks (News - Alert) introduced Tango Extend for Webex Calling in a move to bring seamless mobile communication capabilities to Cisco Webex users.

This new launch empowers Cisco (News - Alert) Certified Mobile Calling Providers to deliver native mobile communication directly through Webex, enhancing efficiency and collaboration in today’s mobile-centric work environments.

“We are thrilled to unlock these important benefits for Cisco’s Certified Mobile Calling Providers,” said Lee Essex, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Tango Networks. “This launch provides new routes to market for Webex Go and underscores our shared vision of enabling mobile solutions in the market. It also ensures seamless, secure, and high-quality communication experiences for enterprises of all sizes wherever they do business.”

Tango Extend integrates with Cisco’s Cloud Connect for Webex Calling program, which allows certified providers to offer mobile services to more than 16 million Webex Calling users. Six initial providers — AudioCodes, CallTower, NTT, Nuwave, BCM One PureIP, and Tata Communications (News - Alert) — will be the first to offer this service.

The solution uses eSIM technology to embed a business line into any smartphone, including Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) setups. Users can make calls and send texts through their phone’s native dialer, utilizing a Webex business number. This dual-identity capability keeps personal and business communications separate and secure to eliminate the need for multiple devices.

“Remote work thrives on accessible mobile communication,” said Hugues Treguier, Vice President of Product Marketing and Go-to-Market of Managed Collaboration and Communications at NTT (News - Alert) DATA. “With eSIM technology powered by Tango Networks, organizations can extend their Webex telephony solutions to include employees' mobile phones. This solution ensures secure and compliant business calls on personal devices.”

By eliminating connectivity gaps, Tango Extend supports frontline workers in industries like retail, transportation, logistics, and in-home services. These employees often face challenges staying connected, which impacts productivity and customer satisfaction. Tango Extend ensures they remain engaged with colleagues and clients, directly enhancing business outcomes.

“Many companies must record and monitor business communications for financial services compliance and customer quality assurance,” said Diana Florea, Director of Product Management at BCM One. “Until now, that has been very hard to do on mobile phones, especially personal devices. Tango Extend embeds a Webex Calling line into a mobile phone, allowing a company to use its recording or compliance tools to monitor mobile communications, even on personal phones.”
