Webex by Cisco is a prominent provider of cloud-based collaboration solutions encompassing video meetings, calling, messaging, events and customer experience solutions such as contact centers, along with purpose-built collaboration devices. The company prioritizes people and their experiences, driving innovation toward inclusive collaboration by leveraging AI and Machine Learning to overcome barriers related to geography, language, personality and familiarity with technology.

Webex by Cisco (News - Alert) also emphasizes a design that prioritizes security and privacy, collaborating with top business and productivity applications seamlessly integrated into a unified application and interface. Learn more about Webex by Cisco during an ITEXPO 2024 keynote presentation featuring Aruna Ravichandran, SVP and chief marketing and customer officer, Webex by Cisco, on Feb. 14, 2024, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

The thing with Webex by Cisco is that adoption and migration were not easy steps for some businesses. Therefore, Phonism, an automated solution to deploy, manage, secure and migrate devices at scale, integrated with Webex by Cisco to bring third-party device management to Webex Calling, available through the Webex Beta Program.

Third-party device management in VoIP pertains to the administration and control of VoIP devices that are not directly supplied by the VoIP service provider. While VoIP service providers typically furnish customers with specific devices configured to seamlessly integrate with their services, third-party device management extends this capability to devices from alternative manufacturers. This involves configuring parameters such as SIP settings, enabling firmware updates, monitoring device performance and ensuring security compliance for non-provider-provided VoIP hardware.

Specific to this integration, Phonism with Webex Calling offers Cisco partners and their clients a swift and smoother transition to Webex without compromising functionality. This collaboration enables businesses to automate various aspects, including device deployments, management, security and migrations, encompassing a wide array of both Cisco and third-party devices.

The integration particularly benefits Webex Calling users by facilitating the incorporation of their existing devices into the Webex environment. This eliminates the need for intricate migrations and user re-training, which leads to cost reduction.

"This integration will provide customers with a secure and automated solution that enhances device deployment and migration and reduces the complexities of working with multiple vendors," said Amey Parandekar, vice president, product management, Cisco

Getting into some specifics, key advantages and values derived from the Phonism and Webex by Cisco partnership include cost savings of up to 95% for BYOD scenarios, onboarding savings that are less than current costs, the automated migration of pre-existing devices, the zero-touch provisioning of new devices and robust support for over 280 devices with ongoing expansion.

These features highlight Phonism’s full commitment to support Cisco channel partners, aligning with the Cisco partner community to help them best serve their customers.

"With our expanded device support and migration capabilities, Phonism is able to provide Cisco's partners and customers with a clear and secure path to Webex for their compatible devices," said Phonism CEO Steve Lazaridis.
