Interprefy Unveils Translation Integration for Teams

By Luke Bellos March 14, 2022

Interprefy announced a new integration with the Microsoft (News - Alert) Teams platform, enabling real-time language interpretation for Teams meetings.

The modern workforce is global, and organizations are utilizing the talent of remote employees across the world. However, language barriers can sometimes make collaboration difficult, especially if employees are unable to articulate thoughts and ideas effectively in a foreign language.

With this new integration, organizations can utilize Interprefy’s network of vetted Language Service Providers to translate conversations instantly, allowing Teams participants to engage in conversations using their preferred language.

"We're thrilled to have been working closely with Microsoft in bringing Interprefy's multilingual meeting expertise to Teams users worldwide," says Oddmund Braaten, CEO at Interprefy. "This is a huge step towards inclusivity and accessibility of global meetings to foster cross-cultural understanding and collaboration."

Braaten also revealed Interprefy is working to bring automated transcription services to Teams in the future, enabling users to translate conversations without live human assistance.

"We've just reached a major milestone in another exciting development, that will bring machine-translated live captions to Teams. Event organizers will be able to flexibly add both simultaneous interpretation and enhanced closed captions to their meetings."
