ActiveBatch Enhances Automated Job Scheduling Capabilities for Enterprise Workload
Advanced Systems Concepts, Inc. (ASCI), today announced it is adding a new service to enterprise IT automation through several enhancements to its ActiveBatch Workload Automation and Job Scheduling Software.
There will be new core capabilities supporting Microsoft (News - Alert) Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange Server as well as an ActiveBatch Extension for Microsoft SharePoin. It is now possible to quickly and easily automate new forms of runbook and IT operations and integrate these procedures into other business and IT operational processes.
ActiveBatch's new Microsoft Active Directory core capability allows IT to automate and manage many of the runbook tasks associated with IT and business processes including adding users and groups, deleting objects or users, and modifying attributes associated with various objects and users. Within ActiveBatch's central console, administrators can initiate job steps that automate the creation, modification and management of any Active Directory operation, using constraints, event triggers, monitoring, alerts and audits to automate and execute functions.
"We're eliminating another boundary to IT automation. Whether its human resources personnel initiating contact information for new employees and ActiveBatch automating the process of creating new mailboxes and groups within Exchange, or an IT worker initializing an optical disk, ActiveBatch can save time, reduce human error and make daily workflows a lot easier,” said Jim Manias, vice president of marketing and sales for Advanced Systems Concepts, in a press release.
Through a new integrated core capability for Microsoft Exchange Server, IT Operations can automate Exchange tasks such as creating mailboxes and groups, associating members to specific groups, and deleting or disabling groups and mailboxes.
ActiveBatch Extension for SharePoint, a product add-on, allows users of Microsoft SharePoint to automate tasks such as backups, copying, creating, deleting or restoring SharePoint objects associated with Web sites, Web portals, extranets and various documents and files. For instance, downloading information from an application into a SharePoint folder can be automated with drag-and-drop simplicity.
Advanced Systems Concepts, Inc. offers software products for users of Windows, UNIX, Linux, HP OpenVMS and NSK systems as well as IBM (News - Alert) z/OS, AIX, i5OS and SCO UNIX. These products provide answers to software developers and system managers with improved system efficiency and utilization.
