Intrado Intros Power Access for Improved 911 Communication Workflows
Emergency response communications remain critical. Today’s Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) are being increasingly challenged by compliance standards and the need to cover new sources for emergency communications.
To improve operations, Intrado (News - Alert) Corporation, a provider of tech-enabled services, has launched Intrado Power Access.
PSAPs today must meet NENA i3 standards for their data and this is further compounded by the fact that new sources have been added to the incoming communications requests as 5G communications and the Internet of Things grows.
The new cloud-enabled solution adds efficiency, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness by allowing PSAPs to initiate a transition at any starting point so they can proceed at a pace that is comfortable for them.
“A thoughtful scalable migration enables PSAP directors and telecommunications to feel more confident and ensures communication workflows are enhanced, not hindered. We use the cloud to deliver smoother, better workflows for every PSAP; whether they have two seats or 200, anywhere there is an internet connection,” said Jeff Robertson, President of Intrado Life & Safety.
With Intrado’s Power Access is based on the company’s trusted emergency response software solutions and adds much needed mobility and flexibility, new call-handling and precise mapping as well as better processing for 3rd party data such as car telematics and medical information from IoT products to provide more information for first responders and ultimately improve response outcomes. It also includes the ability to transform the 911 data into actionable insights. Using real-time dashboard and customizable reports, as well as i3 logging, text-to-911 and more.
“Cloud for public safety should be more about PSAP workflows than IT workloads. This cloud-enabled platform allows centers to focus on serving the public without worrying about ever-changing technologies,” said Robertson.
