The Cloud is the Solution

By Ashley Caputo, Call Center Management Web Editor

Workforce management (WFM) software is necessary for any type of businesses that revolves around customer service. By capturing and analyzing customer interactions across all channels, organizations which can be anything from retail to the medical industry are able to make strategic decisions to increase overall efficiency and effectiveness.

However, this software usually tends to be just as complicated and expensive as it was years ago, which means that only companies that have advanced IT departments can afford to make a WFM investment. Monet Software, a provider of call center solutions, believes there is an alternative to give small to midsized companies that opportunity to purchase a solution that is sophisticated and efficient – one that is not scaled down or of lesser quality. The answer is in the cloud.

WFM in the cloud is delivered over the Web and as a subscription service and according to Monet, the cloud-based workforce management model also offers some performance advantages over traditional call center WFM software, especially if there is more than one call center is involved.

Since all data and information is stored “in the cloud,” it can be accessed at any call center workstation, as well as on mobile devices away from the office, making it easier for managers to travel and continue managing the office with ease. “As more companies continue to hire telecommuting employees, or working out of their home part-time, that flexibility can be invaluable as the industry continues to evolve,” Monet states.

Aside from new location options, by moving WFM software into the cloud businesses can save money, on hardware, databases or a data center infrastructure, as the cloud exists in the digital space. It also allows for unlimited space without the need of buying new servers or software installations.

The cloud can be accessed from anymore at any time as long as there is Internet access. With a lower investment on WFM, a more rapid return is made in the cloud application, and any updates can be delivered automatically without installing new software.
