Webinar - How Mobility Drives Productivity in the Field

Service in the field – it’s something that almost seems lost in a time gone by. We no longer have the milkman deliver our dairy products to the doorstep; the doctor no longer makes house calls; and even the computer technician wants you to bring your computer to him for an evaluation and fix.

But this trend hasn’t changed where technology is concerned. Professionals working for phone or power companies have to be mobile to be able to get to the heart of the problem when an issue or an outage occurs. Likewise, the mechanic tasked with repairing the large piece of machinery must be on site to handle those challenges, as the owner simply lacks the experience and the tools to make it work.

This shift back to the professional in the field has been supported with mobile technology that is not only advanced, but also accessible in even the most rural of areas and at a much lower cost than in the past. In fact, if a company can’t provide professionals in the field, they are more likely to be met with challenges in the market when trying to compete with companies that are leading this shift.

For those in the satellite industry – delivering equipment, setup and support for commercial and residential customers throughout the target market, and staying connected to the client – the support staff and any other value-add resources along the way are critical to a successful implementation. It also demonstrates expertise when the technician is equipped to do the job right the first time.

The key benefit to staying connected in the field is productivity. If a technician in any industry has to return to his corporate headquarters to get answers to a problem or the solution to a challenge, the customer is left waiting, doubting the capabilities of the technician and even the quality of the company providing the solution. Ultimately, it hurts the perception of the brand.

As a result, companies need to take a closer look at the value mobility can add to their activities in the field and what it can mean for their competitive advantage.

To help in the process, TMCnet has partnered with SAP (News - Alert) to offer a free webinar, “Mobile Drives Field Service Productivity at Satellites Unlimited,” scheduled for Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. EDT/11 a.m. PDT.

If you’re ready to learn how to leverage the power of mobility to drive productivity, this is one webinar you won’t want to miss.
