Riverbed, Optus Team Up to Enhance End-user Experience

By , Call Center Management Contributor

Riverbed Technology, a company that provides application performance infrastructure solutions, recently announced an agreement with Optus (News - Alert), an Australian end-to-end ICT and managed service provider and telecommunications company. As per the terms of the agreement, Optus will offer Riverbed SteelCentral Application and Network Performance Management (ANPM) solutions as a managed service offering. The solutions will help companies improve end-user experience by quickly identifying performance issues of business critical applications.

Riverbed (News - Alert) SteelCentral solutions provide end-user, application, and network performance management and centralized control. Riverbed delivers visibility, analytics, and insight empowering companies to leverage IT to innovate and differentiate from the competition. SteelCentral drastically reduces the time and effort required to develop, deploy, and ensure application performance. The solutions are leveraged throughout today’s rapid application lifecycles and across IT operations and development teams, providing a centralized and common solution to maximize efficiency, performance, and productivity in today’s application driven world.

“The ability to ensure customers’ business critical applications are performing where it counts – for the end-user – is crucial in an era defined by cloud and location independent computing,” said Ian Raper, regional vice president for Australia and New Zealand at Riverbed. “Today’s announcement demonstrates both Optus’ innovation and its commitment to keeping customers up-and-running – after all, these days application performance equals business performance.”

Riverbed also recently announced that Veolia Water Technologies is using Riverbed SteelHead and Riverbed SteelCentral to improve the performance of its business applications and to identify, analyze and resolve network and application issues quickly. Riverbed SteelCentral NetShark, which is embedded in Veolia's SteelHead appliances, provides the company with network visibility across its entire global network.

With Riverbed, Veolia has an end-to-end view of its entire global network and is optimizing the performance of centralized applications delivered to remote sites in less-than-ideal IT conditions, improving application delivery speed more than 80 percent.
