Webinar - Cool Vendor NetNumber Helps Carriers Transition to IP Services

Gartner (News - Alert) recently named NetNumber a Gartner Cool Vendor for what it’s doing with TITAN, its Transactional IP Telephony Addressing and Numbering platform.

NetNumber (News - Alert) is cool as it provides platforms enabling the CSPs to transition to digital services by innovating signaling control, such as subscriber profiles, Internet protocol addressing from legacy phone numbers, and policy-based control for digital services,” writes Deborah Kish of Gartner. “This enables CSPs to transition faster in the delivery of new services across multiple generations of networks.”

Signaling control is extremely complicated, and it’s only becoming more so as the number of existing networks and technologies (like TDM and IP-based networks, and 2G, 3G, 4G, and eventually, 5G cellular) multiplies, says, Doug Ranalli, NetNumber founder and chief strategy officer.

“As we evolve our networks, we find that we’re not able to turn down our legacy networks, at least not for a long time,” Ranalli adds.

The good news is that TITAN can fulfill any signaling control or routing database functionality, and do it a holistic way, he says, rather than requiring communications services providers to invest in, implement, and manage a variety of different platforms to do the job.

NetNumber President and CEO Brad Boston (News - Alert) explains that TITAN offers STP and DIAMETER functionality in a single, software-based platform, which provides service providers with the adaptability and programmability to be more efficient in managing their networks and allows them to expedite the delivery of new services. He adds that NetNumber’s integrated database allows for optimal processing of data in service provider networks, making the modification of signaling control logic a quick and easy process.

“What is interesting about NetNumber,” Gartner notes, “is that its competition is spread across multiple domains, yet it has no direct competitors because no other technology provider does what NetNumber does in that it has the ability to combine and collapse multiple layers of network components.”

To learn more about this approach and how it can help communications services providers effectively move into the future, join NetNumber and TMC (News - Alert) on Tuesday, April 28 at 10:00 AM EDT for the webinar “An Innovative Approach to Simplifying the Transition to IP Services.”
