Webinar - Do You Need to Avoid the Pitfalls of Working with a Hosted Voice Provider?
By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor
A quick look around the telecommunications space and the benefits surrounding hosted voice solutions are obvious. More than simply vendor propaganda, hosted solutions offer lower cost, greater capabilities and optimal flexibility.
But is it possible for one solution to be the best option all of the time? If so, how do you select the right vendor?
When selecting the right communications platform, a business must first identify its needs and then right-fit the solution according to those needs. To accomplish this, they often turn to an agent or value-added reseller (VAR). This individual or organization can provide a consultative approach to selecting the right communications platform, and manages the relationship with the hosted voice provider.
This arrangement sounds easy enough, but if you’re the agent or VAR, you know it takes a solid relationship with a proven provider to realize business growth. You have long-term revenue goals in mind and rely on your partners to help you reach those goals.
When hosted voice was first introduced, it was difficult to rely on as a U.S.-based company. Today, those options have certainly improved, but the dogs are still around. How do you best avoid them to ensure long-term success?
One key to this process is to understand how best to identify those dogs through proper evaluation. Pitfalls certainly still exist that can slow revenue gain or inhibit success altogether. Without the ability to go to market quickly, for instance, you can quickly lose the opportunity to convert hot leads.
If the go-to market plan requires a large investment from you, the benefits of the partnership are quickly negated.
To truly maximize the opportunities afforded to the agent or VAR, the goal is to increase wallet share and integrate processes and systems to improve overall performance. This can only happen when the voice provider has the same goals in mind. If you’re constantly pushing to improve performance and only get push back from the provider, it’s time to look elsewhere for solutions.
The best approach, however, is to avoid such providers in the first place. To that end, Broadview has partnered with TMCnet to offer a free webinar: 8 Pitfalls to Avoid When Partnering with a Hosted Voice Provider. Scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM ET / 11:00 PT, this event will focus on U.S.-based companies and what they can do to improve performance and benefits when working with the hosted voice provider.
