Tely Labs Extends an Offer to Abandoned Cisco Umi Telepresence Users

Cisco (News - Alert) Umi Telepresence users might feel abandoned, but help is on the way. Shortly after Cisco announced the end of the Umi Telepresence service, Tely Labs has announced its “Umi Rescue” program, providing rebates for telyHD and telyHD Business Edition video conferencing solutions purchased by Umi Telepresence users until February 28th.


The telyHD is a Skype (News - Alert) Certified device, providing two-party Skype video calling to conference rooms and living rooms on HDTVs, without requiring a computer. The Business Edition comes with additional features, such as multi-party video calling, desktop sharing, and more. It can connect up to six locations at once, while providing the capabilities and video quality of an enterprise solution.


Through the promotion, Umi Telepresence (News - Alert) users can get $50 back on each telyHD video conferencing solution, or $100 on each telyHD Business Edition. Considering the investments some have made on Umi Telepresence, it may not be that much of an incentive, but still a nice deal nonetheless.
