TMC Announces 100 Sponsored Communities Now Live on TMCnet
TMCnet currently hosts 100 live industry-specific online communities on behalf of its clients and sponsors. TMC is an integrated global media company helping clients build communities in print, in person and online.
TMCnet communities are built in two specific formats: Global Online Communities (GOCs), and Industry Channels.
Global Online Communities (GOCs) are robust editorial platforms, built with layer upon layer of content in multiple media formats. Each GOC focuses on a specific area of the market, and is populated and designed in conjunction with its sponsor. GOCs are vibrant communities that, over time, achieve very high rankings on leading search engines. Based on the extreme focus of their content and resources, GOCs are bookmarked by decision-makers who join these communities seeking news, product information, and partnership opportunities. All GOCs are highlighted on TMCnet, appearing in the top tabs on each page of the site - including the TMCnet home page.
Most recently, TMCnet launched the Hosted Communications Community in conjunction with its sponsor, Speakeasy. TMC’s highly successful Contact Center Research channel achieved 400,000 page views in February 2008, according to Webtrends. Other GOC’s include Rich Media, Mobile VoIP, IP Communications, and more.
TMC's channel program is a community-building vehicle assisting our partners in building their brand. Each channel features a specific topic in the IP Communications, VoIP, IP Telephony, CRM, Call Center and/or Information Technology industry.
TMCnet’s most recent channel launch is the Email Server channel, sponsored by Ipswitch. Other channel topics covered include IP PBX, VoIP Call Center, Business Phone Center, e911 and more.

TMCnet Continues to Grow
February 19, 2008
As I mentioned a while back, TMC is experiencing record growth and I promised we would maintain our high levels of quality as we grow. TMCnet currently has just under 50 worldwide columnists and most of them write daily.
TMC continues to look for the absolute brightest thought leaders to keep you up to date and help you make informed purchasing decisions in the communications and technology space.
To that end, TMC's latest columnist is Dan Miller, an analyst at Opus Research who will write a column titled "Communications in Context."
Miller has over 25 years experience in marketing, business development and corporate strategy for telecom service providers, computer manufacturers and application software developers. Recently he oversaw the launch of research practices covering voice biometrics and local mobile search.
I am thrilled to have such a high quality writer as part of the TMCnet editorial mix and thanks again to all of our readers and sponsors who have made TMCnet so popular over these past years.
Dan's first article is titled Beyond UC: Contextual Communications and you are welcome to bookmark his columnist page so you don't miss any of the important things he has to say.

Challenging established standards, and then introducing different approaches to achieve distinctive results certainly helps to define innovation within this industry.
Not only is the award granted to the best-selling products, but is awarded to those demonstrating raw innovation, uniqueness, and representing a significant contribution to the industry.

Editorial Highlights - May, 2008

Selecting Hosted VoIP
The expense of purchasing, installing, managing and supporting customer premise-based IP communications solutions is just too great for many small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
The economics of the situation have always favored either solutions that are entirely hosted by a service provider or “managed” (where some of the equipment sits on the customer premise but is tended by the provider). Such solutions enable smaller businesses to focus on their core competencies and not on hiring IT staff and buying equipment. When evaluating a provider one must take into account Quality of Service (QoS), uptime and security. To be able to supply such superlative service, service providers themselves must rely on new and innovative ways to maintain control, flexibility and visibility over their infrastructure..

Call Center Technology Tips For SMBs
Many call center technologies, until recently, were available only to the largest of companies. Solutions such as speech, CRM, workforce optimization, call recording and analytics were expensive, took a long time to implement and required a great deal of administrative talent. Thanks to many software-as-a-service and IP contact center technologies, medium-sized and small companies can boast the same full-featured advanced call center solutions as the largest of enterprises.

UC for Two (or more): Conferencing and Collaboration
The rise of unified communications, presence, device awareness and the mobility afforded by Fixed-Mobile Communications (FMC) brings a whole new dimension to conferencing and collaboration. Their effects are magnified by their integration with back-end business applications. Business processes themselves are altered in both ad hoc workgroups and online “communities”.
