With Sights on Continued Growth, Nextiva Adds Extensive Leadership Experience

UCaaS company Nextiva is looking to build the future of business communications and productivity. Earlier this month, Nextiva announced its new NextivaONE platform that will allow workers to have everything they need in a single user interface.

In its next step toward building the future of business communications, Nextiva added significant software experience to its leadership, adding Alan Black and Robert “Bob” Beauchamp to its Board of Directors. Black is former chief financial officer of Zendesk and founder of Surfspray Capital, and Beauchamp is former chairman and CEO of BMC Software. Collectively, they bring decades of financial and enterprise software leadership to their roles at Nextiva.

Black has more than 35 years of experience as an executive leading public and private enterprise software companies. He founded Surfspray in 2017 through which he advised over a dozen companies, including Looker Data Sciences, Bill.com and HashiCorp. Prior to founding Surfspray Capital, Black was CFO of Zendesk, CEO of Intelliden and CFO of Phone.com.

“Nextiva has achieved a large degree of success in the phone and contact center business and is poised for additional growth with a strong vision for the future of work communications,” said Black. “I believe there is a real opportunity for the company to be a leader in its industry.”

Beauchamp will bring more than 30 years of experience in enterprise software and more than two decades of experience gained serving as a board member of various large and small companies across multiple industries. Beauchamp recently served as chairman of BMC Software, after serving as its CEO for more than 16 years.

The board appointments officially started in June 2022. Nextiva CEO Tomas Gorny said their strategic guidance will help Nextiva build on its vision of powering human connections and further disrupt the market.
