RingCentral Goes Global with UCaaS Service

Communications technologies are expanding around the world as more countries deploy the infrastructure needed to support IP telephony. This has pushed service providers in this segment to deliver the same offerings for their customers no matter where they choose to branch out. RingCentral, a provider of cloud-based business communications and collaboration solutions, has launched a new cloud-based unified communications as a service (UCaaS) solution called Global Office to provide organizations with the ability to act as local businesses in different geographic locations around the world.

Unified communications (UC) brings a range of communications and productivity tools together so organizations can access it anytime and anywhere. For companies that are based locally or nationally, it has become a critical piece of technology for the collaborative workforce of today. But for organizations with an international presence, it can get complicated.

With the new RingCentral Global Office, the company is making it possible for organizations to access enterprise cloud communications with all the tools they need to power workforce productivity and improve customer engagement. This means multi-national businesses no longer have to install multiple on-premises PBX systems and the cost and complexities associated with it.

The platform is built using the RingCentral Global Connect Network. This network has a redundant service delivery architecture with the capability of delivering the scalability, security and quality of service to support UC across different locations. It can support distributed offices and employees for multinational companies that have presence in countries around the world.

“When we introduced RingCentral Office, we dramatically changed the legacy PBX market with a single cloud solution supporting multiple locations in the U.S.,” said Vlad Shmunis, chief executive officer of RingCentral. “We also delivered simple and disruptive all-inclusive per-user pricing compared to the expensive and complex a la carte pricing model still prevalent among legacy on-premise vendors. Now, we are taking our unique solution and pricing model global for our customers.”

Even though there are many solutions in the market place that provide localized communications services for international companies, communicating as a local entity often times doesn't deliver true local experience. RingCentral is able to achieve the local experience with local phone numbers and caller ID, global extension-to-extension dialing, carrier-grade quality of service and number porting and emergency services as required by law.

As Elka Popova, principal analyst, Unified Communications & Collaboration, Frost & Sullivan, put it, “Distributed enterprises have a tremendous demand for a unified cloud-based communications solution that efficiently connects their global workforce.”

The RingCentral Global Office gives organizations a single administration portal with full control to remotely manage users, new lines and extensions for all of their office locations.

The new solution is expected to launch on February 18, 2016.
