8x8 Names Armer New CISO

The cloud wars are well underway. And as each cloud communications provider fortifies market position to better compete in this quite crowded, highly competitive space, strategy and leadership is critical to achieving expected success.

Recently, 8x8 unveiled the appointment of Michael Armer to the role of Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer. In addition, the cloud communications provider announced its third successful FISMA/NIST compliance audit by a federally certified auditor.

“It’s mission-critical for organizations to keep their communications systems secure. 8x8 is a leader in providing secure cloud-based communications services,” said Armer. “I’m excited to be part of a team with such a strong commitment to customer and partner data protection.”

Armer is tasked with all of 8x8’s information security management initiatives. This includes compliance, governance, strategic planning and controls as well as reporting, evaluating the firm’s overall security performance and position in relation to industry best practice, threat landscape and regulatory requirements.

Also falling under this umbrella is strategic input toward the technology roadmap, product development and more.
