Webinar - Still Afraid of the Cloud? You Shouldn't Be

Despite the fact that the cloud has now been around for years, and is accepted by the tech community as a legitimate resource, it still remains an enigma to countless companies and individuals. It’s human nature to be skeptical of concepts we don’t fully understand, and that’s a problem businesses face on a daily basis when contemplating the cloud.

Too many companies remain unsure whether or not they want their information “floating around in the cloud somewhere.” When asked why they’re so skeptical, companies tend to list the same concerns repeatedly: reliability, quality, security, etc.

These are all valid concerns, of course. How can a company know for sure that all the information they put into the cloud will remain secure? If it’s so easy for an employee to access the cloud to upload company information, who’s to say a hacker can’t access that confidential information just as easily? Reliability is also another common issue that comes up when companies choose to put off the cloud. Sure, there’s something to be said about saving files on a hard drive or USB drive the old fashioned way, but the cloud simplifies that whole process. Besides, the chances of information just magically disappearing from the cloud aren’t very high, despite concerns.

When it comes to the cloud, like with many others instances of skepticism, seeing is believing—or rather, in this case, hearing. 8x8 (News - Alert) and MOBI are putting on a webinar Wednesday, May 10 at 1 p.m. EDT titled “Cloud Myths Busted: Converts talk facts, fears and the future of Comms.” Like many other companies, MOBI, a mobile device management provider for Fortune 500 companies, was unsure about its decision to move to the cloud. However, after transitioning all its communications to the cloud, it hasn’t looked back since.

Attendees will have the chance to hear CTO of MOBI, Eric Sendelbach, discuss how the company improved call quality and business continuity by using the cloud. The webinar will discuss the various benefits the cloud offers—rapid deployment, self-service administration, etc.—and will even address most of those popular concerns I mentioned earlier.

Cloud proponents and skeptics alike are encouraged to attend this webinar on May 10. REGISTER HERE to learn the difference between cloud myths and facts.
