Webinar - Masergy Shatters SD-WAN Myths
By Paula Bernier, Executive Editor, TMC
Is your business looking for a more flexible and cost-efficient way to connect its various locations? Would you like more visibility into your traffic? Does dramatically simplifying your networking environment sound attractive to you?
If so, SD-WAN may be worth looking into.
Of course, you may have already heard about SD-WAN. And if you have, that would not surprise me at all, because this has been a big year for SD-WAN promotion, and it’s expected to be a good time for SD-WAN adoption.
“The market for SD-WANs is expected to rise rapidly in the next few years, as enterprise customers begin piloting the services at smaller sites before rolling out across more critical sites,” notes Heavy Reading analyst Sandra O’Boyle.
“The central software platform can remotely configure and monitor physical and virtual customer premises equipment to ensure fast provisioning of new sites and performance monitoring,” she explains. “Application-level policies select traffic paths based on the application or the connection and real-time analytics that can measure packet loss, latency, and jitter to determine the best route possible.”
All that can happen over a variety of connection types, be they DSL or hyrid/fiber coax broadband, Ethernet, LTE (News - Alert), microwave, or MPLS.
But the great promise of SD-WAN has also created a lot of hype, and the rush of solutions providers to this new space has brought with it a fair amount of confusion. That’s why service provider Masergy thought now would be the ideal time to host a webinar to offer education on SD-WAN and debunk some of the misinformation that’s circulating about this important new technology.
The upcoming webinar is called “Shattering the Myths of SD-WAN.” It is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. EDT/11 a.m. PDT and will feature Paul Ruelas, director of network product management at Masergy.
