While some states have worked hard to make sure that their state Affordable Care Act call center exchange is working perfectly, other states have decided to leave it up to the federal government in order to deal with potential issues. Oregon is one such state that simply abandoned its state health care exchange, and handed the job over to the federal government after a plethora of problems a year ago. Perhaps those problems are the reason that the state is reporting only about a third the number of Oregonians who purchased health insurance through the ACA a year ago are re-enrolling in 2014.
One of the issues with Oregon abandoning its state healthcare exchange, instead of attempting to fix the issues the way that states like Minnesota did, is that people now have to re-enroll.
