Choosing an ideal platform for building LTE eNodeB and EPC elements
LTE is right around the corner… More than eighteen operators globally have announced LTE plans and a dozen intend to start deployments in 2010. LTE represents the next big network equipment category spend for operators globally. Telecom equipment manufacturers are now challenged with choosing the right platform for LTE, which fulfills the critical requirements of a flat network architecture; high throughput, low latency, and spectral efficiency maximization and facilitates a quick time to market.
This webinar provides specific insights for equipment manufacturers as they assess hardware and software options for LTE. The webinar will address requirements for both access and core network equipment and will cover critical integration aspects including middleware, processors, chipsets, and chassis platforms.
What Attendees will learn:
- Overall performance and latency requirements for LTE eNodeB and the Evolved Packet Core (EPC)
- Detailed EPC platform requirements for control plane and data plane traffic handling
- Processor architectures, performance, power, cost models
- Design consideration for chassis and boards
- Base station performance optimization in baseband, MAC scheduling, packet processing, ciphering, RoHC
- Product architects and designers responsible for platform-related decisions on LTE equipment such as eNodeB, EPC, and Test and Measurement solutions
- Product management and technology teams involved in making platform choices for LTE equipment
- System engineers seeking to gain insights into the performance implications of LTE traffic and developing specifications for LTE platforms
