Event management software provider Everbridge announced this week it will be extending an existing partnership with Webex by Cisco. As part of this extension, Webex will continue to include Everbridge E911 solutions for customers utilizing the Webex Calling (Multi-Tenant and Dedicated Instance) & Unified Communications Manager (UCM) Cloud platforms

Citizens and dispatchers alike have benefited greatly from the changes brought on by the RAY BAUMS Act & Kari’s Law, two connected laws which ensures 911 call availability on all multi-line phones, and guarantees first responders have the most accurate location information possible when responding to emergency calls.

Webex and Everbirdge have taken initiative a step further by combining Everbridge E911 solutions with Cisco’s Nomadic E911 capabilities, offering responders the most accurate network location data with calls made through Webex. In the event of a location change from a caller, users are then notified to update caller information in order to remain compliant with new laws.

“Since we connect 8 billion phone calls each month, we have a huge opportunity to impact how people work. We want to ensure our customers have access to the latest calling and collaboration features to provide them with the best possible experience. commented Lorrissa Horton, Vice President and General Manager of Webex Calling “When using the Webex App and needing to make an emergency call, it will provide accurate location information to emergency services for easier and timely dispatch.”

The first deadline phase of Ray Baum’s Act officially began in January,2021, which officially required all wired devices to become compliant with these new legal changes. However, wireless and mobile onsite devices were delayed by an additional year, and are now required to meet new standards by January 2022. Both Webex and Everbridge representatives believe this partnership extension will be beneficial to businesses currently behind on their regulatory commitments.

“This powerful product integration and partnership brings together Everbridge’s leading on-premise and cloud-based E911 solutions with the breadth and reach of Cisco’s market-leading Webex platform,” said Doug Dahl, General Manager of Everbridge E911 Solutions. “Both companies are working together on Future of Work innovation to meet the demands of mobile, remote, and in-office work forces. Together, location-based E911 solutions, integrated into Webex, offers organizations 100% compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
