Sinch Enters Acquisition Agreement with Inteliquent For $1.14B

Cloud and mobile communication provider Sinch has announced that the company plans to acquire Inteliquent, one of the largest independent voice communications providers in the United States.

The acquisition was settled for $1.14 billion in cash, hopes to further cement Sinch as a dominating presence in the North American cloud communications market, which currently covers 94% of the carrier population. Inteliquent has notable success during 2020, reporting $533 million in revenue and $256 million in profit. The pandemic played a major role in providing an unexpected lift in numbers, due to the overwhelming demand of cloud services that the world has experienced in the last 12 months.

The transaction is currently pending and requires clearance from CFIUS and US competition authorities, the receipt of FCC, state public utility commission, as well as other governmental approvals. If approved, the combination of cloud resources and voice services will solidify Sinch a major player in the cloud and telecommunications space.
