Five9 Names New EVP of Engineering

Every disruptive product or portfolio begins with an idea. This first step leads to planning, which then evolves to development and before you know it, it’s time to go to market. Leadership plays a key role in the incubation of product roadmaps and creating future-forward solutions fit for the digital age.

Five9 announced a new addition to its leadership team. David Pickering will join the Five9 squad as executive vice president of engineering, where he is tasked with leading the Five9 worldwide engineering team in product and platform development.

“David brings years of experience leading engineering and product delivery for some of Silicon Valley’s biggest and most successful technology companies,” said Five9 CEO Rowan Trollope. “We were especially drawn to his success engineering modern cloud services and scaling those on public cloud. At the same time, David has a laser focus on building incredible customer experiences into every product line he’s worked on. We are fortunate to add him to our leadership team.”

In his previous role at Intuit, Pickering put his best foot forward, as served in a leadership role engineering QuickBooks Online and was critical in launching the QuickBooks Accountant segment. The industry veteran possesses a strong track record from his time at Intuit and will now bring the same vigor to his role at Five9.

“Our relationship with companies and their brands has become much more personal recently and demands for seamless interactions with them is at an all-time high,” said Pickering. “As it has evolved from the first cloud-only contact center a decade ago to its deep integration with artificial intelligence, Five9 is positioned to once again help transform how customers interact with companies.
