RingCentral Adopts ThousandEyes Solution

Great unified communications experiences don’t just happen. They require quality UC solutions and connectivity. And quality assurance calls for monitoring to assess application and network performance and to make adjustments as needed.

That’s why cloud communications and collaboration solution provider RingCentral has adopted ThousandEyes technology. The ThousandEyes’ solution measures performance metrics such as API availability, anycast routing, jitter, network latency, packet loss, and SIP response times.

"At RingCentral, our top priority is delivering best-in-class cloud communications solutions that enable today’s modern workforce to connect and collaborate from anywhere, on any device. We are consistently investing in ways to enhance user experiences, and quality of the service is a key enabler," said Ashu Varshney, VP of Cloud Service Operations at RingCentral. "ThousandEyes gives us insight into network dependencies outside our network perimeter, enabling us to proactively address issues before they affect customers."

Deutsche Bank, eBay, and Slack also use ThousandEyes to understand performance data on their local service providers and ISPs. The company’s technology lets those customers simulate end user performance to get insight into such things as failing devices, network outages, and slow service.

“One of the major themes we’ve observed in enterprise migration to the cloud is that visibility or lack thereof becomes a major pain point because of all the ways that the cloud creates external, Internet-centric dependencies that are out of IT’s control,” says Alex Henthorn-Iwane, vice president of product marketing for ThousandEyes. “When you don’t have control, you really need visibility. If you don’t have visibility, you are definitely at a major operational disadvantage. This dynamic holds true no matter where you go.”

Visibility and application and infrastructure performance management are also key themes that AIOps solutions suppliers are talking about. At AIOps Expo Jan. 30-Feb. 1 in Fort Lauderdale, AIOps and application performance management solution providers will discuss the challenges of cloud environments today and how new solutions can allow for better performance and visibility in the highly complex networking world of today.
