Broadvoice, provider of hosted voice, unified communications, and SIP Trunking for businesses, appointed Alan Kaplan as channel manager of the Midwest region. Additional recent channel manager hires include Randy Greene for Texas and Todd Scarborough for the Southwest region.

This is not Kaplan’s first time as a channel manager for he brings over two decades experiences, specifically in the communications arena. He spent time as a channel manager at Broadview Networks and served as a channel executive for MegatPath, PAETEC, and TelePacific (now called TPx), as well as other network and cloud service providers.

"We are delighted to welcome Alan to our team," said Tessley Smith, vice president of channel for Broadvoice. "We feel strongly that he can leverage his industry expertise, product knowledge and partner relationships into continued growth for Broadvoice throughout the Midwest. We've nearly tripled in size over the past three years and look forward to many more quarters of double-digit growth with industry veterans like 'Kap' coming aboard."

Because of his extensive background in telecom and unified communications, Kaplan understands how to convert customers from legacy technologies to more modern solutions, specifically hosted VoIP and UCaaS. The UCaaS market is estimated to grow to $28.69 billion by 2021, according to Research and Markets so it is vital to have an experienced channel manager in place, such as Kaplan.

"I couldn't be more thrilled about joining Broadvoice," said Kaplan. "It's a company teeming with youth and energy. They have great products and people who are passionate about doing the right thing for partners and customers. They also like to work hands-on with agents and their clients, which is important to me. I don't want to be a quote machine. I truly enjoy getting to know partners and doing everything I can to help them grow their business. And that's the attitude of everyone at Broadvoice, too. I'm excited to a part of their team and I know their solutions, support systems and esprit de corp with respect to the channel will be great assets to the partners I work with."
