GAWK Lands Record-Breaking Revenue Run for Third Quarter

September 12, 2016

By Steve Anderson - Contributing Writer

With GAWK Inc.'s third quarter now one for the history books, it turns out that August proved to also be one for the record books as the company's third quarter revenue turned out to be the best the company had ever seen. While it's still comparatively small against some firms' measures, GAWK's rapid gains suggest that the company is doing at least something right.

The company reported that August yielded over $600,000 in revenue for the company, beating out the previous record of $500,000 by a healthy margin. Leading the way was the company's hosted private branch exchange (PBX) exchange, a fully-encrypted system that allows all calls that flow through the network, whether as a target or as an origination point, receive the benefits of GAWK's powerhouse technology. With protection devoted to desk phones, desktop PCs, and soon, mobile devices, GAWK is ready to protect most any device that might send or receive a voice transmission.

Security is a major part of the competitive edge presented by GAWK; the company recently acquired a couple of firms geared toward augmenting that security in Xtelus and Connexum. With demands for cyber security overall—and in voice service in particular—growing, as noted by GAWK CEO Scott Kettle, GAWK's improvements in the field will generate a better level of security to meet the growing need.

Though security is front and center in GAWK's offerings, it's a competitive edge, not a primary focus. The company offers a complete slate of cloud-based connection options, offering not only hosted PBX but also Internet access from speeds ranging from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps, which is a huge range and covers just about any need in the field. The company reaches 100 million people monthly, and covers not only 31 major cities, but also 21 separate countries.

That's a great range, and suggests that GAWK could be a major up-and-coming force in the field before too much longer has passed. The good news here is that it not only has a great product line in its hosted PBX, but it also has the infrastructure to back it up with the Internet access and a terrific competitive edge in its terrific encryption and security options. That combination together gives GAWK many of the necessary tools to be a success, but now, it's going to have to focus on its marketing in a big way. People need to know this option is out there, and if the company's counting its monthly revenue in the mid-six-figure range, it's still a comparatively small outfit.

GAWK has the tools to be big, but it's going to have to use these to really get ahead. With marketing now the big issue to getting ahead, it's a safe bet that GAWK will spread its word and make a hit with companies looking for a secure and feature-packed way to talk to others.
