Hitachi Opts for Octasic's NETTOWER CX-01 to Power Virtual PBX Setup

Hitachi, a global electronics company, has recently chosen Octasic’s Vocallo Media Gateway multi-core DSP platform, for use in its hybrid virtual PBX NETTOWER CX-01.

The Vocallo MGW software package includes voice processing with support for a wide range of wideband codecs such as AMR-WB G.722.2, G.722, G.722.1, G.729.1, and SILK. The platform will be used by Hitachi to offer enterprise customers the option to seamlessly combine its corporate data network with its TDM voice networks.

In a press release, James Awad, director of Marketing at Octasic said, "Octasic's Vocallo MGW platform provides both the highest voice quality and video capabilities within a single DSP. We are happy that Hitachi has chosen Vocallo MGW for our state-of-the-art algorithms. This again proves that we offer the most flexible solutions on the market. Targeted at large and medium-sized enterprises, the NETTOWER CX-01 provides a PBX solution that meets current enterprise requirements in reliability, flexibility and scalability. By adding additional software upgrades, clients can provide a flexible architecture to the NETTOWER CX-01. This setup makes it easily adaptable to changes in market demands.

Support for fixed mobile convergence capabilities and smartphones enables the NETTOWER CX-01 to bring a higher level of convenience to mobile phone users in their day-to-day work.

For voice media processing in VoIP, Hitachi has integrated Octasic's multi-core processor into NETTOWER CX-01.  

Octasic also offers robust software for its processor and acts as a single source vendor to Hitachi. With the help of Octasic, customers of Hitachi will now also benefit from echo cancellation and voice quality enhancement technology.
