Voice will always have its place in the business world, but the omnichannel reality of today is driving collaboration, communication and engagement across all channels. And, one cementing its position on the podium is SMS.

Today, Alianza announced the purchase of Message Hopper, a software company that provides cloud-native business SMS solution. With the purchase, Alianza can add chatbot functionality, automated responses and marketing campaign management to its arsenal.

"Acquiring Message Hopper advances our corporate purpose of helping to connect people in new and innovative ways," said Brian Beutler, CEO and founder of Alianza. "Message Hopper's underlying cloud architecture, unique focus on enabling service providers, and meticulous care for the user experience have made this acquisition a great fit for us. Combining our companies will help service providers address new growth opportunities and empower their commercial customers with multi-channel sales, marketing, and support tools."

According to recent research from Gartner, SMS and MMS messages possess an open rate of 98 percent, making it an extremely impactful way to deliver messaging. Data from CTIA notes an average response time of 90 seconds for a text message, making it extraordinarily effective in engaging customers.

With the Business Text Messaging in place, organizations can leverage existing landlines, toll-free or VoIP phone lines to interact with customers via user friendly web-based portal.

Are your communications in the cloud, yet?
