Enterprise session border controllers (ESBCs) provider Edgewater Networks is helping MegaPath deliver its business VoIP and data services.

MegaPath provides managed data and voice services including hosted voice over IP (VoIP) and SIP trunking services to single- and multi-location businesses in North America.

The company has selected the Edgewater EdgeMarc 4552 Series ESBC and the EdgeView VoIP Support System to improve the delivery of its business VoIP and data services.

EdgeMarc products provide a VoIP and video aware NAT/Firewall, protocol harmonization for interoperability of VoIP and video devices, active VoIP line testing, call quality monitoring, survivability and QoS.

Further, the EdgeView VoIP Support and Reporting systems help in troubleshooting network impairments that negatively affect VoIP quality and provide visibility into the overall performance of the business VoIP network.

The implementation of MegaPath T1 and Ethernet circuits using Edgewater’s voice-ready ESBC as a WAN access router enables customers to leverage the next-generation platform with ease and right away.

“Edgewater Networks enables MegaPath to cost-effectively scale our business services to a wider audience while providing a broader scope of next-generation cloud services, including Hosted Voice,” said John Scarborough, senior vice president of Product and Marketing, MegaPath, in a statement.

“After extensive testing, we are pleased with the ease in which the Edgewater solution integrates into our environment as well as how it resolves interoperability and security issues while providing a superior end-user experience,” Scarborough added.

The Edgewater EM 4552 provides T1 or Ethernet termination, data routing, quality of service (QoS) and the VoIP interoperability. The ability of Edgewater solutions to serve as the demarcation point for MegaPath business VoIP services reduces all associated costs while increasing the speed of deployment and ensuring high quality service delivery.

Edgewater Networks solution is interoperable with a wide range of voice and video equipment from a variety of business VoIP solutions providers.

“As service providers expand their portfolios to include Hosted PBX and other cloud services, they require a networking service delivery solution that ensures the highest levels of performance,” added Dave G. Norman, chief executive officer of Edgewater Networks.

According to Norman, Edgewater provides companies in various industries with a complete solution that manages interoperability and security challenges, while also enabling service providers to efficiently provision services and provide ongoing diagnostics to ensure customer satisfaction.
