Webinar - Mitel Tops Branham300 List

Mitel (News - Alert) has come in at No. 1 in Branham300’s list of the Top 10 Canadian Mobile Technology Companies.

Branham300 has been around for 23 years and is the most well-known and referenced list of Canada’s top tech companies. It ranks based on revenue. Mitel in May announced GAAP revenues of $276.1 million for the first quarter ended March 31.

In addition to its designation mentioned above, Mitel came in as No. 5 in the Top 25 Canadian Software Companies list, and No. 15 on the Top 250 Canadian ICT Companies list.

Mitel, which this Friday at 2pm EDT will host the webinar Five Must-Ask Questions When Choosing a UCC Vendor, has been growing both organically and via acquisition. Most recently, the company announced plans to buy videoconferencing giant Polycom for $2 billion. And Mitel last year acquired Mavenir, attempted to buy ShoreTel on two occasions, in 2014 purchased Aastra (News - Alert) and OAISYS. In prior years it purchased Inter-Tel and prairieFyre.

Earlier this year Mitel made some management changes related to its mobile-first strategy. As part of that, former Mavenir CEO and Mitel Mobile Division President Pardeep Kohli was selected to head up Mitel 5G Cloud Connectivity as president, and BG Kumar took his place as president of the Mitel Mobile Division.

These changes were aimed at helping Mitel and its carrier customers ready themselves for the continued ramp up in global demand for 4G LTE (News - Alert) services. Mitel caters to tier 1 carriers, including cellular network operators, with such products as its virtualized VoLTE, VoWiFi, and RCS solutions.

David Charles of product marketing at Mitel will talk about the UCC space in which the company is a player during the June 10 webinar referenced above. Attendees of the webinar will hear about the evolution of UCC technology and its impact on how we work; how UCC saves three hours a week per mobile worker at 60 percent of the businesses that use it; and how effective collaboration can reduce emails by 40 percent. Charles will also share real-world examples of companies that have reduced costs and improved workplace efficiency by leveraging UCC.
