Webinar - How to Get the Video Network 'That Just Works'

Have you used video conferencing? Statistics are betting you have – the enterprise telepresence and video conferencing equipment market is expected to reach $5.4 billion by 2015, and 94 percent of video conferencing users believe it leads to greater efficiency and productivity. There’s no doubt that video has become and will continue to grow to be a valuable business tool. But how do you get the right network and infrastructure to support it?

Like with many technologies, video conferencing can be extremely productive and useful when working properly – but as soon as delays, buffering problems and broken functionality come into play, it becomes more of a roadblock than an enabling technology. All users prefer to use video solutions “that just work” – so it’s up to IT and enterprises to ensure they are providing the right infrastructure, tools and network to make that happen.

There are a lot of different components to consider when looking at video infrastructure – bandwidth optimization, resolution, transcoding, presence and multiple endpoints are features that can affect video performance and quality. Plus, take into consideration growing video trends such as WebRTC, security considerations and session management challenges, and you might not even know where to start.

Video infrastructure has evolved to the point that with some foresight and planning, making video “that just works” is easy to achieve. In an upcoming webinar, Brent Kelly, principal analyst at Constellation Research and president of KelCor, and Walter Kenrich (News - Alert), SBC product line manager at Sonus, will discuss the infrastructure required to make video work, why session border controllers are important in video networks, endpoint interoperability challenges and security and governance considerations for video.

The webinar, “Five Steps for Achieving the ‘It Just Works Video Network’ Enterprise Video that Meets People’s Expectations,” is happening Thursday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. EST/8 a.m. PST. Register here!
