WebRTC has captured the interest of a number of major companies in the technology and telecommunications spaces, one of which being smart networking solutions provider GENBAND (News - Alert). The company has actually been making a number of WebRTC-related announcements since the beginning of May, not the least of which being its SPiDR WebRTC gateway, a software solution that allows developers to easily incorporate voice and video into their applications.

More recently, GENBAND announced that it will participate in an upcoming TMCnet webinar entitled "WebRTC: How Network Operators Can Monetize the Disruption." Scheduled for May 8 at noon ET, the webinar will emphasize the business opportunities WebRTC can offer network operators, such as expanding RCS services to the Web — something made possible by the company's WebRTC gateway.

The webinar will feature Greg Collins, founder and principle analyst of Exact Ventures; Erik Linask, editorial director for TMCnet; Ken Workun (News - Alert), director of Marketing Solutions for GENBAND; and Dr. Natasha Tamaskar, vice president of Global Strategic Solutions for GENBAND.

GENBAND is also set to play a major role in TMCnet's WebRTC Conference and Expo as a Gold sponsor. Scheduled for June 25 - 27 in Atlanta, Ga., the event will feature a session and panel led by GENBAND personnel: Workun will lead a session on "WebRTC Disruptions" on June 26 at 10:00 a.m., while GENBAND's VP of Solutions Marketing, Sanjay Bhatia, will take part in the "Where's the Money?" panel on June 27 at 9:00 a.m.

Furthermore, the company will provide event attendees with a look at its commercially available WebRTC solutions, including the GENBAND SPiDR WebRTC gateway at booth number 53.
