Webinar - Citrix Takes the Cloud Down Under
By Robbie Pleasant, TMCnet Contributor
Citrix has thrown the gauntlet, challenging businesses in Australia to take to the cloud with free 30-day trials of various Citrix products. So far, many businesses are replying with “challenge accepted.”
Citrix hopes that by providing free trials of its various solutions, more businesses will take to cloud commuting. Of course, with research indicating that over 90 percent of organizations will provide a flexible work policy in 2013, it’s also going to gain customers in a market that’s constantly growing and expanding.
Individuals and teams of up to 10 people can try any of the four cloud-based products for 30 days for free. The Citrix GoToMeeting allows teams to connect remotely over any device, with audio, Web, and HD video conferencing, making it a good option for teams looking to work virtually. Other options are the Citrix GoToMyPC, which lets users access their computers or mobile devices over any Web browser, or the Citrix Podio, which helps manage work processes and projects on a collaborative work platform.
There’s also the Citrix GoToAssist, which provides service desk management, remote support, and IT monitoring from a single interface. It was introduced just last month, using functionality from Beetil to provide ticket and incident management, not to mention problem management to identify problems before they escalate.
“There are a lot of ways to say it - whether it’s teleworking, workshifting or notdesking – but the crux of the matter is that, driven by technology, Australians are changing the way they work,” says Seamus King, country director for Online Services of Citrix Australia and New Zealand. “Work is no longer a place we go, it is a thing we do. Telework allows companies to reduce their costs while employees improve productivity and flexibility. It’s a win-win situation. We’re so confident that Australia can benefit from cloud commuting and workshifting, we’ve made a whole range of our most popular telecommuting software solutions available to use for 30 days in support of National Telework Week. With this challenge, there’s really no excuse not to experience the benefits of telework.”
This is a smart move from Citrix. The 30 day free trials will win it quite a few points with customers in Australia, and many of them will want to move on to the paid version once their free trial is up. The solutions offered by Citrix are great at leveraging the cloud to improve communication and business processes, which is just what many companies and workers need.
If you’re interested in introducing new technology to users in the workplace, it will be discussed at this upcoming Citrix Webinar on Tuesday, November 27th. Sign up here.
