Webinar - Transitioning to Cloud-based Storage Area Networks

SANs or storage area networks are increasing in popularity for organizations in nearly every industry who want to gain access to a solution that will enable them to ramp up for disk utilization as well as have a robust disaster recovery in place that could eliminate extended downtime which could result in a huge price tag (News - Alert).

When business implement a traditional SAN, they will be forced to overcome multiple obstacles such as only having a few inexpensive servers, needing to replicate data for disaster recovery but not having the resources available to purchase fast WAN connections, an administratively intensive economic model, a large risk to the business overall, and not enough flexibility.

“Although cloud storage benefits may be easy to understand, visualization of a cloud-enabled storage infrastructure has been difficult. Companies should expand their view of conventional SANs to include private cloud and public cloud storage along with existing on-site storage. The enabling technology for Cloud SANs are storage gateways like TwinStrata (News - Alert) CloudArray, which provides seamless migration between a variety of on-premise and cloud-based storage,” revealed James E. Bagley, founder and senior analyst of Storage Strategies NOW, in a recent blog post.

If your company needs more information in regards to storing a huge amount of data virtually, then be sure to attend the event taking place on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. EDT/9:00 a.m. PDT titled, “Extending SANs to the Cloud: What the Data Storage Vendors Forgot.”

Nicos Vekiarides (News - Alert), CEO of TwinStrata, will be the presenter during this session and has over 20 years of expertise in the data storage field that ranges from business manager to a founder in startup companies. Before coming to TwinStrata, Vekiarides held the position of vice president of Product Strategy and Technology at Incipient, Inc., where he was responsible for creating the industry's first storage virtualization solution that was contained within a Cisco (News - Alert) switch fabric.
