Webinar - Biscom Webinar Explains the First Place to Start Cutting Costs is with FoIP

Last week’s webinar on how to reduce fax costs proved how using Fax over IP (FoIP) and virtualization are a great place to start when trying to cut costs in the enterprise.

As promised, the presentation, sponsored by Biscom, highlighted how when moving to a fax environment, fax traffic volumes, enterprise-level application needs, future requirements, cost implications and customer technical support resources must all be considered to make the right choice for your organization.

Presenters of “How to Reduce Your Fax Costs with Virtualization, FoIP and Cloud Faxing,”  included three of Biscom’s most knowledgeable and experienced thought leaders in the FoIP space.

Dick Orlando, executive vice president at Biscom, kicked off the webcast with a discussion on the enterprise fax environment, including common fax considerations, recommended best practices to follow when deploying a fax service and specific options enterprises can utilize today.

John Lane, VP of technical and customer services for Biscom, continued on the topic of virtual fax options, better known as Fax over IP (FoIP). More specifically, Lane elaborated on cost savings tips enterprises and small business can develop when working with FoIP and virtualization.

Last but certainly not least, Mike Gayowski, concluded the presentation with a discussion of how fax services are moving to the cloud, including the difference between basic and intelligent fax functionalities.

Some of the best practices Orlando suggested included auditing your fax operations, being aware of what your total fax cost per page actually amounts to and evaluating available technologies your company can make the most of. He also mentioned a few things to consider when looking for the best fax service for your company, including consolidation, server virtualization, VoIP deployments, cloud fax services and hybrid fax solutions.
