Quintum Announces Unified Comm Alliance

Eatontown, New Jersey-based Quintum Technologies, a VoIP technology firm, has announced an alliance with Unified Communications to support Signaling System 7 on Quintum Tenor Carrier MultiPath Switch and DX product lines.

The idea behind the collaboration is that Unified's SS7 Signaling Gateway, coupled with Quintum's VoIP solutions should be a cost-effective way to deliver voice services over IP networks.

Switchings a strength of Quintum, which has a line of VoIP switching products deployed in enterprise and service provider networks around the world. The Quintum Tenor VoIP product has a MultiPath architecture that supports transparent deployment in existing voice networks, and supports Quintums patented SelectNet switching, which monitors the QoS for each call, switching it to the Public Switched Telephone Network if necessary.

SS7 is an international telecommunications standard which enables telephone calls to be set up efficiently. Unified Communications' SS7 Signaling Gateway is a product that provides seamless integration of communications equipment into an existing SS7 telecommunications network.

Providing the functionality required to support applications such as Wholesale VoIP Termination, Tandem Switching, IP Local Access Services and Calling Card Services, Quintum's Tenor DX and CMS products support H.323, SIP, intelligent call routing, TDM switching and QoS all-in-one solution. The Tenor DX supports up to 4 T1/E1/PRI trunks, while the Tenor CMS supports up to 32 T1/E1/PRI trunks.

Quintum Technologies is a manufacturer of voice and data network switching equipment utilized in public telephone networks and Internet telephony. Quintum sells its products worldwide through a network of resellers and distributors.

The SS7 Signaling Gateway supports multiple Quintum Tenor VoIP switches over the IP network, thus creating a method for service providers to support SS7 in their VoIP networks.

Mr. Wong Tze Leng, CEO of Unified Communications, said as part of the agreement with Quintum, we will be introducing the SS7 Signaling Gateway to Quintum's global network of resellers and distributors, who will be able to integrate the products to provide a complete VoIP solution that supports SS7 to their customers.
