Tuff Shed Upgrades Systems with RingCentral Solutions

Tuff Shed, Inc. manufactures sells and installs storage buildings and garages for residential, governmental and commercial customers. Over the past 36 years, it has designed, fabricated, and installed more than 900,000 buildings, and will surpass its one-millionth building later this year. A network of 48 Tuff Shed manufacturing facilities allows the company to service customers across 36 states. 


However, despite how large its operation is, the company found that having legacy systems in place was much more “tuff” than it had originally planned for. Until recently, the company was using an on-premises legacy system from a well-known provider for its voice-based communications, and various on-premises and cloud providers for its messaging needs.

Juan Ruiz, director of information technology at Tuff Shed, explained the problems that outdated system caused by saying, “Our biggest challenge with our legacy system was the minimal mobility afforded by the solution, which proved to be a challenge for our increasingly distributed workforce…We’ve reached a point now in our growth where it’s critical for us to have the flexibility and agility to move quickly. Our legacy systems just weren’t cutting it for us anymore as they didn’t have all the telephony and collaboration capabilities we need to make our employees as productive as possible.”

To solve the problem of its outdated communications, Tuff Shed turned to RingCentral, Inc., a provider of global enterprise cloud communications and collaboration solutions. Tuff Shed has since deployed the RingCentral Office and RingCentral Contact Center solutions. With RingCentral’s solutions in place, Tuff Shed has cited enhanced employee mobility, ease of manageability and scalability as key benefits of the solution.

Deploying these solutions isn’t the end of the road for this partnership, though. Ruiz stated, “This is an ongoing project with more than half of our retail sites and factories running on RingCentral…To better serve and engage customers, Tuff Shed’s sales and support teams are using RingCentral Contact Center integrated with RingCentral Office voice, video, messaging, and conferencing capabilities. In addition, Tuff Shed has plans to leverage RingCentral’s integrations with leading cloud business applications, such as Salesforce, to further streamline daily workflow improving overall productivit
