SCC Partners with SIPCOM to Deliver Hosted Voice, UCaaS

SCC has added hosted voice and Unified Communications as a Service to its portfolio with its partnership with SIPCOM.

“This deal underlines our 3-5-year growth plan in positioning SCC as a leading Data Centre & Cloud Services provider,” SCC chief executive James Rigby said. “Adding Fluidata’s network and SIPCOM’s Hosted Voice & UCaaS capabilities to our Data Centre Services delivers a very compelling Cloud Delivered Managed Services proposition to our customers and the markets we operate in.”

The move shows how valuable virtual PBX solutions are. With the move to VoIP, many businesses are finding that it saves them a lot of money to host all of their communications, including data, voice and email, over one connection.

Companies can have their virtual PBX hosted offsite and maintained by companies like SCC so they don’t have to install anything. Virtual PBX systems also allow companies to work with BYOD employees using their own mobile devices to communicate with colleagues, giving them an extension that works anywhere as if it was a desk phone.

SCC’s parent company, the Rigby Group, which also has interests as diverse as hotels, airports and property development, has invested in SIPCOM as well as acquiring data center and telecom company Fluidata earlier this year from SSE Telecom.

The investment in SIPCOM will let SCC build virtual PBX systems serving 65 countries over three continents. This complements the Rigby Group’s international reach in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

The Birmingham, England-based SCC plans to reach 200,000 cloud users by the end of 2018. The company’s clients include Kier Group, Samworth Brothers, Grafton Group, Macdonald Hotels, United Utilities, Department for Work and Pensions, and WHSmith.

“The investment from Rigby Group positions SIPCOM firmly in the mid-market space – and offers customers the value and comfort they expect when selecting a cloud service provider,” SIPCOM chief executive said.
